Welcome back to my blog and Magenta Super Saturday. It was a very wet, gray January in the
Pacific Northwest so I decided to use my Copic markers to create a card with some bright spring
flowers. You can also see my card on the
Magenta blog here.
One of my favorite techniques is to stamp an image in my
stamp positioner, color it with colored pencils, then restamp it and emboss
with embossing powder. The embossing redefines
the stamped image and really makes it pop.
You can see an example of that technique here. I decided to use the same technique on today’s
card, except I colored my image with Copic markers instead of pencils.
First, I used my stamp positioner to stamp the image using Gina
K. Amalgam Black ink (which is Copic friendly), then began coloring. I used G07, Nile Green and YG41, Pale Cobalt Green
for the leaves. For the berries I used
R08 Vermillion. I used four different
sets of colors for the flowers. For the
purple flowers I used V04, Lilac and V06 Lavender. For the pink flowers I used RV14, Begonia
Pink and RV06, Cerise. The yellow
flowers were colored with Y35, Maize and Y38 Honey and the orange flowers were
done with YR07, Cadium Orange and R05, Salmon Red. I colored the centers of the flowers with
R37, Carmine.
After the coloring was complete, I returned the image to my
stamp positioner and stamped with VersaMark ink, then embossed with clear
embossing powder. Next, I stamped the
sentiment with the same black ink and die cut it with a stitched circle die. I cut a slightly larger circle from So Silk Beauty
Pink and adhered the white circle on top. I adhered another piece of So Silk Beauty Pink
to the front of an A2 card. I trimmed
the colored image to 4” x 5 ¼”, wrapped it with some gold twine, then adhered
it to the front of the card. I added a
piece of fun foam to the back of the circle then placed it on top of the gold
thread. For the last step I added some
glossy accents to the berries and the flower centers.
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
